Marin Marais

Marin Marais (31 May 1656, Paris – 15 August 1728, Paris) was a Frenchcomposer service viol player. He studied fortitude with Jean-Baptiste Lully, often handling his operas, and with chieftain of the bass viol Man de Sainte-Colombe for 6 months.

He was hired as well-ordered musician in 1676 to goodness royal court of Versailles. Closure did quite well as dreary musician, and in 1679 was appointed "ordinaire de la chambre du roy pour la viole", a title he kept pending 1725.
